About

Hi my name is Karen Barnard, welcome to my website, thank you for visiting.

I must confess that I’m better at taking photos and soothing babies than expressing myself in writing. (palm to face, blushing!) However I will try to tell you a little bit about myself and what I believe in.
I’m just a normal mom & wife who started out life as a Graphic Designer, but over the years I lost the passion and evolved into a photographer because of my love for creating photographs. I absolutely treasure the look on my client’s faces when they see the final product and I love my work for so many reasons. I know that this art form I take part in has a much bigger and larger effect on lives than we realize sometimes and I take this responsibility very serious.
I consider myself a bit of an advocate of “displaying your photographs” for everyone to see. This is a subject very close to my heart. “Psychologists have studied the effect of having family photographs displayed in the home and found that those children with photographs displayed in the home grew up with greater confidence and sense of belonging than those who didn’t. They had stronger feelings of value and a better understanding of where they came from.”
I can only promise you that I will do my utmost best to create memories for you and your family to treasure for a lifetime.
